Emerging Cleveland on Popsicle Industries

How does living in a converted loft building that once housed the Tyler Elevator Company's gargantuan turn of the century factory sound? What about viewing cutting edge visual arts and seeing emerging rock bands in what was the nation's first Romanian Orthodox Church? Perhaps you'd be interested in an apartment in a former bible printing factory... Or maybe you're more "green" than that and you want to live a more energy independent lifestyle in the Cleveland Eco Village. Then there's Lebron James's new housing development in historic Glenville...

For all of you expatriates and prodigal sons and daughters returning to the place you call home for the holidays, the Emerging Cleveland Tours are your chance to dive into the pulse of what's been happening in Cleveland while you've been away. The two minds behind this innovative set of tours are Erin Aleman & Justin Glanville, two good friends of mine and fellow grad students in the CSU Urban Planning program. The tours were a big hit last year and have been promoted by everyone from the Plain Dealer to Cool Cleveland. The number of tours this year have doubled and the two over Thanksgiving weekend sold out weeks prior to the holiday.

This Monday, December 4th, I'll have Erin & Justin on the show. We'll talk about their inspiration, the tours, and their plans for the future. Don't miss it!
